Agreed, Jeff. It absolutely helped me to eliminate resentment toward the JWs on the local level and focus whatever anger remains where it belongs, on the borg and its leaders.

by Witness 007 intheocratic mid-week meeting was just a session of "defence tactics" training witnesses to automatically think of a defensive answer without even pondering the other persons point of view.
witnesses send everything you throw at them in the "trash basket" of their brain...only thinking of thier next defensive response.

internet evolutionists almost universally and repetitiously proclaim that modern neo-darwinian evolutionary theory is supported by overwhelming evidence and that there is no evidence for biblical creation (or even mere intelligent design) for that matter.
they will dogmatically claim that evolution receives universal support from all the real scientists and all the facts from genetics, biology, geology, paleontology, and every other ology that one can think of.

If one is rational enough to not take the Bible as literal and yet value it as perhaps the world's most important piece of literature, none of this evolution versus creation stuff really matters.
I frankly don't allow evolution to have anything to do with whether I believe in God. They are two different topics who's paths only cross when you bring the dogmatic views of religionists into contrast with the equally dogmatic views of many scientists.

Need some support
by ~Jen~ ini don't post very often but i'm in need of some support.. i left my husband and the jw's back in the summer.
we have 3 kids and have joint custody of them.. i've spoken to my family once - back in the fall and it was a great conversation - my parents (dad is an elder) said that they just wanted me to be happy however that is.. last week i got a voicemail from my mom saying that she loved me and thought about me every day.
i was so happy.

Governing Body Are: Old, Hypocritical, Destructive, Blood Guilty, Company Men, In Sheep's Clothing
by frankiespeakin inthese guys on the governing body deserve our scorn.
they are the makers of policy which control the minds of our jehovah witness family members who shun us and break up our families.. they are the ones who make up the rules that have led to thousands of premature deaths due to their strict enforcement of a ban on blood transfusions, o they like to put the blame on the bible for that one,, but in actuality it is their own narrow mindedness and interpretation of scripture with the threat of disfellowshipping those who don't follow their edicts which puts the blame squarely on them as policy makers.
it is them who demand complete obedience with no independent thinking allowed that is drummed into the heads the average jw several times a week until he blindly follows even to the death their narrow minded strictly enforced prohibition.. they are the ones who determine what the wt corporation will print and what rules will be strictly enforced and this has led to much sorrow for those who find governing body claims of authority lacking and wish no longer to be dominated buy their narrow minded rules and destructive policies.

As much as they talk about numbers they would rather have 5 million fully-devoted slaves than 7 million reporting publishers with an unknown number living in doubt and staying in merely for family and social reasons.
The hard-line stance is to weed people out. It is no different from the weed-out classes in certain demanding majors in college used to get the kids not fully dedicated to the major and work involved to drop out or switch to something easier. The GB is getting stricter and more overt with the mind-control so that people who can see it will leave and no longer be able to influence those who remain and shun them.

As a jw ,what did you make of non dubs doing christ like things and showing compassion
by looloo infor example what did you think of bob geldof organising band aid and the hit single "do they know its christmas " and shows like children of courage about kids who may have cancer but still find time to raise funds for ill people , or someone rescues a stranger from a burning building without a thought for themselves , when bob geldof did what he did for the starving in ethiopia did you never wonder why "true christians " did not get involved ?
and did you ever feel confused that the kid with cancer would be for it come armageddon because his parents were not jws despite being a much nicer kid than you often observed at the kingdum hall ?.

Here is what Dubs are trained to think about such things:
Judas, when seeing a lot of money being 'wasted' on oil for Jesus, suggested that the money would be better spent given to the poor. Jesus indicated that spending the money on "Kingdom Interests" was more important than such things.
Therefore, any Dub who would support ANY "worldly" charity rather than give the money and time to the WTS is thinking like Judas.
Besides, all those charities are a part of "Satan's world" which we should avoid.

I think it is partly motivated by the transcript of Fred Franz's (who is still idolized by many old-time Dubs) anti-Governing Body talk from the mid-1970s that is so readily available on the Internet.
It is also to protect them from accusations of changing light, as many of the best talks on tape are from the older days.
It is also another way to exercise control of Information. (The "I" in Hassan's B.I.T.E. mind-control method)
There are many reasons for not wanting transcripts and tapes of talks distributed, none of which are those in the KM.
